Premiership and Championship T20 rounds
Monday 18th and 25th May
Reason for delay
Wet and cold weather affecting grounds and squares
Additional factor
Pressure on umpiring appointments across the Association

The North West have postponed the start of the domestic season, with the opening round of fixtures now being played on Saturday 25th April.

There were due to be a double round of T20 matches, with eight fixtures in both the new Premiership and Championship T20 competitions, but these will now be played on Monday 18th and Monday 25th May.

Clubs have been struggling to get grounds and squares ready following the recent wet and cold weather, and there was universal agreement to push the season back in line with both the NCU and Leinster senior campaigns.

The change also eases pressure on umpiring appointments, with the Association continuing to deal with shortages despite repeated appeals and courses.
